Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actress and singer whose acting variety earned her acclaim across many genres ranging from period drama to action and thriller. Johansson daughter of an architect as well as a producer was brought up as a child in New York City. Her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. From a young age, she developed a passion for acting. She began making commercial auditions around the age seven. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and afterwards went to the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further refine her skills. In the Off-Broadway production Sophistry she co-starred with Ethan Hawke. She then appeared in her first film on screen in North (1994), directed by Rob Reiner, at age nine. Johansson appeared next as a character in Just Cause (1996), however it was Manny & Lo 1996 that gave her her breakthrough. The film is about two girls orphaned by their parents who are running away. Then, she was awarded high praise from critics for her performance as a teenage girl who had suffered an accident that caused her to be damaged on screen in The Horse Whisperer (1998). Renee Felice Smith started her professional career in entertainment from a very young age. While she was still a young child Smith was interested with acting. Smith found her first role as an actor at age six with the help of her parents. Smith was in an Dannon TV commercial. As with most actresses beginning to get their feet wet, she would work on her skills in theatre. Additionally, she was involved in various productions across the USA as well, and Wildflower was her debut on stage production. She studied at Stonestreet Studios, the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
